Holiday Season + Self-Care

December is a time we tend to fall out of normal routine.  Our schedules can get quite busy trying to finish up last minute Christmas shopping and attending holiday dinners.  Either way it's easy to fall off the wagon. These simple tips are going to help you to stay committed to your own self-care and well-being this holiday season.

Tips For Impeccable Self-Care

Stretch daily. Even a few minutes of stretching a day can keep you flexible and avoiding injuries.  Stretching releases toxins + gets endorphins flowing + helps muscles feel great!

Drink LOTS of water. On the days I drink enough water I feel energized, refreshed and feel good. On the days I don’t, I feel tired, lazy and my mind is foggy.  I can really tell a difference, so cheers to another drink of H20! Proper amount for women is 2L (+1L for nursing mama’s) and for men 3L.

Get outside and get moving. The stress of this time of year is higher and excuses try to consume you. This is the exact reason why you need to take time out for yourself to breathe in some cool, crisp, fresh air and get inspired by the beauty of nature.  You’ll be glad you did and you’ll feel more focused and grounded which will give you the ability to knock off your ‘To Do’ list even faster.

Say NO to Sugar + Processed foods. We all know at Christmas there are endless amounts of chocolates and sweets everywhere. And we all know how we feel if we get a little too indulgent.  My advice is to stay away or limit as much as possible.  Once we start its harder to stop. Our goal is to honour our body and to feel good as much as we can. And that is not happening if we’re on a sugar hangover. It zaps our energy and leaves us feeling lazy. If you’ve had too many non-empowering foods then try having something that does empower you (lemon water, fresh veggies, a healthy smoothie, etc).  It will make you feel so much better, I promise!

There you have it.  These tips are easy to do but also easy NOT to do. I challenge you to share these tips with someone you can stay accountable with this month or share with me, I'd love to hear from you!!!!!

May your December be bright! Sending you so much love this holiday season.

Jen xoxo

Start Here + Now

I was at a Fitness Conference in Toronto this past weekend and I picked up a few ideas that I love!  As we're approaching the end of the year I am super inspired to help YOU get a head start in your results and your SUCCESS for 2017 (for whatever that means for you;  fitness, health, life, business, personal, etc).

Success isn't created overnight, it is created after many weeks and months of small changes and improving daily habits.

What I encourage you to do is hit the link below - PRINT IT OUT and start implementing a few daily habits of your own as soon as you can. Start with 2 and then add another when you're ready. Take your time. You want to have consistent progress (slow and steady wins the race) versus trying to do too much too soon.

Feel free to adapt this to your own lifestyle and needs to make it your own.  Daily habits are where its at - so start here!!

Comment below and let me know what habits you're going to start with!

Do You Really Want it?

Believe it or not there are 55 days left of 2016! I'm pretty excited for the rest of the year if you ask me.

This year has been a great year for me and my business. I really stepped out and overcame a lot of things.  I have a lot to be proud of and grateful for.

Last year there were many hurdles I had to get through, and at times I didn’t know how I would make it out on top. It’s funny how life can change so much in a year. I’m in a much better place now and it’s a reason to celebrate!

So YES -  I am excited to finish this year off strong, and so can you if you desire. A lot can be done in 55 days. We’ve all heard the saying it takes 21 days to create a habit – well as it turns out, that is actually false – you can read about it here.

There is still hope though. If you really want to create change it boils down to making the right choices on a daily basis.

The challenge for November is to answer the 2 questions on the calendar (click here) and wake up each of the next 54 next days with intention to walk towards your best and strongest finish to 2016!!

You got this!

Fall + Letting Go

I love Fall.

It's so beautiful, not just the changing leaves but the entire shift in season. I find it fascinating the whole process, the leaves fall, we clean up the mess of it all, a new leaf grows and it happens all over again. It is a good life lesson.

Its a good idea to regularly clear away clutter from our minds, our space, and our schedule.

Our minds can only hold so much before feeling cloudy and lost.
Our physical space can make us feel tired and unfocused if it is too cluttered.
Our schedules only have 24hrs in a day and we often try to squeeze in way more than what is actually possible, its important to let go of a task that is no longer serving you before adding something new. Otherwise we burn ourselves out and we don't have time to enjoy anything.

What can you clear away to feel a bit lighter?
What no longer serves you that you can let go?

Getting Back to You!

It’s easy to fall off track during the summer, whether its exercise, healthy eating, routine or whatever else you’re aiming for.  September is an awesome time to get back on track and start back up again fresh!!

Wow...I can't believe summer is gone and September is here already.  Happy first day of school to those of you with little ones!!!  My little girl is starting school for the very first time this week.  I luckily get a few more days with her before her first official day later this week.

My little girl & guy as we ventured out into downtown Toronto over the long weekend!

This month we are focusing on GETTING BACK TO YOU!!  It’s easy to fall off track during the summer, whether its exercise, healthy eating, routine or whatever else you’re aiming for.  September is an awesome time to get back on track and start back up again fresh!!

I have a challenge for you!! I want you to make 2 or 3 commitments to yourself and follow them daily for the next 4 weeks. What will you commit to doing for yourself to better yourself? Take a pen and write them down and keep your promise to yourself!

Maybe it’s to do with fitness or healthy eating. Or maybe it’s that you'll read 3 pages from a book every day or you'll say out loud something your grateful for every day.  Whatever it is make sure you write it down and discipline yourself to follow it through! Feel free to share your commitments with me for some extra accountability!!!

Happy September to you!
